Inspired by liminal spaces and a desire to capture the creepy nostalgia of an old mall, midwestern filmmakers Gavin Charles and Alex Conn set out to make an experimental found footage horror movie. The final product is “NOCLIP”.
A micro-budget feature written, filmed, edited and performed by gen-z filmmaking duo Gavin and Alex, “NOCLIP” is a comedic and surreal take on the liminal aesthetic with a satirical nod to the internet culture that birthed the viral Backrooms phenomenon.
Our film follows two vloggers who set out on an adventure into an old shopping center, only to find themselves lost in an increasingly creepy and claustrophobic maze of hallways, liminal spaces, stairwells and backrooms.
Gavin Charles & Alex Conn are the co-directors of NOCLIP, a found-footage movie inspired by the "liminal spaces" aesthetic. Their approach to lo-fi guerilla filmmaking which spawned the NOCLIP series has become their signature style and a guiding artistic philosophy in and of itself which makes Gavin & Alex's unique brand of cinema exciting and unpredictable.
With more than 10 years experience making films, NOCLIP is our first collaboration. We are both extremely passionate about our craft and we’re dedicated to creating original found footage films. NOCLIP is first in a series.
